History and culture behind the corner!
Bibione and Lignano do not only offer sun and beach; there are also a lot of excursions starting from Bibione and Lignano for discovering the inland.
Short trips will help you to discover untouched parts of nature, small characteristic towns with typical city life, important Roman cities like Portogruaro and Concordia Sagittaria and other historical artistic town centres known in all Europe. In Venice and Triest you will find a lot of architecture and history, an Habsburg centre of Middle-European culture; Aquileia instead gives you, because of its archeological ruins, the possibility to enter in the times of Roman culture.
Enogastronomical routes in the area bring you to wine-cellars, to Cividale del Friuli, land of vineyards and strongholds of Longobardian culture and at the end, on the way home, the trip concludes with a dinner eating fish in the “Casoni”, the fishers’ houses in the lagoon of Marano.
These are only some possibilities for having also a cultural impression during your holidays in Lignano and Bibione.
