Over time, the project evolved into an educational and environmentally conscious facility.<br><br>Today, the park covers an area of about 100,000 square meters along the Tagliamento River and is home to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parcozoopuntaverde.it\/en\/\">around 1,000 animals of various specie<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parco Zoo Punta Verde has several different objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Educating<\/em> visitors to a higher understanding of and sensitivity towards the animal kingdom and the environment in general, through specific programmes of environmental education aimed both at schools and the general public;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <em>conservation of biodiversity<\/em>, through continued patronage of projects aimed at safeguarding endangered species in their own environment and offering the local population an opportunity for sustainable development;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Research<\/em>, through collaborations with prized institutions such as universities, museums and scientific institutions;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To bring <em>emotions<\/em> to visitors of all ages, by taking them on a
