Guided Nature Walks in the Biodiversity Park of Lino delle Fate in Bibione

Guided nature walks are back at the Biodiversity Park, offering visitors the opportunity to explore one of Bibione’s most fascinating natural areas together with an experienced nature guide.

The Biodiversity Park is located within the Lino delle Fate Eco Village Resort and covers approximately 16 hectares of green area. It is a valuable Mediterranean ecosystem where biodiversity, landscape and sustainable human intervention coexist in harmony.

A unique ecosystem in Bibione

The Biodiversity Park of Lino delle Fate preserves a rare example of what Bibione looked like before tourism development and urbanization transformed the area. Here, visitors can still experience the original landscape of this stretch of the Adriatic coast: a natural mosaic of dunes, woodlands, grasslands and wetlands that has fostered an exceptionally rich ecosystem.

The resort itself takes its name from the Lino delle Fate (Stipa Veneta), a symbolic local plant and one of the many species found throughout the park.

Along the trails, visitors can admire more than 20 species of wild orchids, which bloom between May and June. As well as a remarkable variety of native plants that support numerous butterfly species and pollinating insects.

The park’s extraordinary biodiversity is also linked to the nearby Tagliamento River, one of the last major Alpine rivers in Europe. Over the centuries, the river has carried seeds, plants and animal species from the Alps to the coast, creating a unique melting pot between Alpine and Mediterranean environments.

As a result, Mediterranean and Alpine species coexist within the park. Examples include the holm oak (leccio), a symbol of Mediterranean vegetation, and the black pine (pino nero), typically found in mountain regions. This unusual combination makes the Biodiversity Park of Lino delle Fate a place of exceptional natural interest.

The park is also home to a rich variety of wildlife. Roe deer, hedgehogs, hares and many small mammals can be found in its woods and clearings, while the ponds provide habitat for elegant swans and numerous duck species.

Visitors may spot more than 50 bird species, including nightjars, owls, green woodpeckers and hoopoes, reflecting the remarkable ecological diversity of the area.
