The excitement levels are through the roof as the 23nd Mizuno Beach Volley Marathon® approaches. The biggest open beach volleyball tournament in the world will take place from 24 to 26 May in Bibione, which is one of the top beach resorts in Italy. It promises to be a thrilling weekend of sport and fun. The event will return to the Veneto town from 20 to 22 September.
More than 10,000 volleyball players from across the world are expected to head to Bibione’s large expanse of sand. They will be representing 2,500 teams and they will battle it out on 250 courts. Organized by Raduni Sportivi, the tournament has welcomed numerous big international names to the beach over the years, both to take part and to watch. They range from the volleyball player Maurizia Cacciatori to the Russian-born star Ivan Zaytsev. This underlines the exceptionally high standard of play in the competition, which brings together professionals, fans and people from the world of show business in the same place.
Over the years, the Mizuno Beach Volley Marathon® has become a flagship event in the sport, as demonstrated by the fact that it was included in a list of 16 must-play beach volleyball tournaments by the authoritative American website flovolleyball.tv. Players will be competing for a total prize fund of €52,000 in the following categories: Men’s 2×2, Women’s 2×2, Men’s 3×3, Women’s 3×3 and Mixed 4×4.
There is more than just sport on offer during the exciting weekend. In addition to the beach volleyball tournament, there will be parties on the sand. More than 20,000 people are expected to enjoy the Aperol Spritz Parties on Friday and Saturday.
The programme is packed with sport and entertainment, so it promises to be another outstanding event with three spectacular days of beach volleyball and parties on Bibione’s marvellous beach.
