Everything is ready for the 4th edition of the international Bibione Half Marathon. On Sunday 12 May 2019, the competitive race will fill the spring streets in Bibione, a Northern Adriatic beach resort that has some of the highest visitor numbers in Italy.
The 2019 Bibione Half Marathon has been included in the official calendar of the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL) and more than 1,600 people have signed up to race, so it already has more participants than last year. The course for both men and women stretches out over 21 kilometres and 97 metres, with both tarmac and dirt roads along the route. The race will start at 9.15 am in Piazzale Zenith and the runners will head towards Bibione Pineda. In the final part of the half marathon, they will go past the town’s spellbinding lighthouse. The prize ceremony will be held at 12.00 noon.
Amateur athletes will also have a chance to get involved thanks to the 10 km Bibione Fun Run, which follows a shorter but equally picturesque route. It will start at 8.50 am and the runners will go past the lighthouse and along the cycle path. Meanwhile, for youngsters there is the Kids Run on Saturday. Refreshments areas and wine and food stands will be open during the events.
In just a few years, Bibione Half Marathon has established itself as an unmissable part of the local spring calendar. It is attracting more and more interest, as underlined by the constantly growing number of people signing up. During the event, there are special deals available for stays in the resort’s accommodation facilities, with an extremely wide range of hotels, apartments and holiday villages on offer.
