The lighthouse will be the focus of the festival, which aims to investigate the sea and the effects of climate change on its ecosystem.
The artist Laura Pugno, invited for a week-long residency in Bibione, has created a flag that reinterprets the historical memory of the lighthouse, lowering it into the urgent environmental issues of the contemporary world. The work, a clear reference to maritime signal flags, will be installed in the garden of the lighthouse, where the tall signal pole once stood to signal ships in transit.
It will be an opportunity for LuMe to celebrate the important symbolic role of the lighthouse and explore new forms of storytelling, always guided by its Light and spreading its Memories.
