The excitement levels are through the roof as the 23nd Mizuno Beach Volley Marathon® approaches. The biggest open beach volleyball tournament in the world will take place from 15 to 17 May in Bibione, which is one of the top beach resorts in Italy. It promises to be a thrilling weekend of sport and fun. The event will return to the Veneto town from 18 to 20 September.
More than 25,000 volleyball players from across the world are expected to head to Bibione’s large expanse of sand. They will be representing 3.000 teams and they will battle it out on 250 courts.
Over the years, the Mizuno Beach Volley Marathon® has become a flagship event in the sport, as demonstrated by the fact that it was included in a list of 16 must-play beach volleyball tournaments by the authoritative American website flovolleyball.tv. Players will be competing for a total prize fund of €52,000 in the following categories: Men’s 2×2, Women’s 2×2, Men’s 3×3, Women’s 3×3 and Mixed 4×4.
There is more than just sport on offer during the exciting weekend. In addition to the beach volleyball tournament, there will be parties on the sand. More than 20,000 people are expected to enjoy the Aperol Spritz Parties on Friday and Saturday.
