Bibione: An Accessible Destination

A holiday for everyone? In Bibione, it’s possible!

The “Bibione Accessible Destination” project was launched in 2019 and represents the natural evolution of a seaside resort that has grown over the years by adapting to the needs and expectations of the many tourists who choose Bibione for their seaside holidays every year.

Bibione has always aimed to become a preferred destination for as many families as possible, recognising that each traveller has different needs and requirements. Among travellers with special needs, people with disabilities represent a significant group—over 10 million people in Italy alone.

The Bibione Accessible Destination project is dedicated to them, with the ambition of making the entire destination responsive to their needs in terms of infrastructure, communication, services and staff competence.

An accessible destination

Bibione has created the right conditions for accessible hospitality thanks to its collaboration with Village For All, a company specialised in accessible tourism. Every year, Village For All supports the destination in improving accessibility, from staff training to the monitoring of accommodation facilities.

Bibione is the first Italian tourist destination to have undertaken a structured path involving the entire tourism supply chain: from accommodation facilities to restaurants and bars, as well as sports and recreational activities accessible to people with disabilities.

What makes Bibione an accessible destination?

An accessible beach

Bibione’s golden beach—the first smoke-free beach in Italy—is characterised by wide, open spaces. Walkways make every beach area easily accessible, while dedicated stations for wheelchairs and beach wheelchairs allow even guests with severe motor disabilities to enjoy swimming in the sea.

An inclusive playground area is also available, where all children can play together and have fun without barriers.

Bibione Thermae

Overlooking the sea and surrounded by a large pine forest, Bibione Thermae is the ideal place to focus on health and well-being. Open all year round, the thermal spa offers relaxing indoor and outdoor thermal pools, a wellness area, and professional treatments at the SPA Beauty Farm, designed also for children.

Bibione Thermae also provides physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions with highly qualified staff.

The wellness pools are equipped with a mobile pool lift, while the hydrotherapy area features a ceiling-mounted rail lift.

Please note that by showing your Europa Card, you can benefit from special discounts on thermal and wellness treatments, as well as access to the pool park and wellness area at Bibione Thermae.

Cycling routes

A dense network of cycling routes runs through Bibione and its surrounding countryside. The routes include paths, dirt tracks and roads suitable for two or more wheels and are ideal even for those who are not particularly trained.

There are short routes and full-day itineraries that allow visitors to discover the most hidden and charming corners of Bibione and the surrounding area. All cycling routes are mapped on Google Maps, making them easy to explore and plan.

Restaurants for everyone

Restaurants and bars participating in the project guarantee wide and accessible spaces suitable for people with reduced mobility, play areas for children, and menus designed for guests with food intolerances or special dietary requirements.

Accessible hospitality with Europa Tourist Group

Accommodation facilities that have joined the Bibione Accessible Destination project are recognisable by the Village For All label.

When we talk about accessible hospitality, we mean tailor-made accommodation also for guests with specific needs, such as food intolerances, different levels of disability, families with small children and seniors. This is because we believe that the only true form of hospitality is inclusive hospitality.

Europa Tourist Group has enthusiastically joined the project by certifying the accessibility levels of several group properties, including the following hotels:
